On 27th of February 2019, Wennovation Hub, Nigerian’s premier hub held its second edition of its monthly wennochat for the year. Wennovation hub, which is always setting trends in its deep passion for strengthening the startups ecosystem in the country designed the wennochat series to cater for identified needs of startups while contributing to their sustainable growth and development. Wennochat is the monthly series where industry experts are invited to share their best practices and experiences with startups in order for them to learn, identify gaps in their systems and fill them with lessons learn.
For the month of February, a social media expert, Olumide Lawrence, the CEO of Glowville communications was invited to share with invited participants and startups how they can leverage social media for promoting themselves and their businesses under the title ‘Launch Relaunch and Earn with Social Media.’
Near the close of the event, some of the participants who were Very elated about the new strategies learnt asked a number of questions to get in-depth knowledge and more clarifications.A member of the audience asked a question about selling and marketing several unrelated products without sounding like a hustler to customers with reference to Dangote, who obviously does just that. Olumide Glowville answered by stating “there’s a difference between selling a brand and selling products, according to him, Dangote sells brand rather than just products.”
The event came to wrap when Owoseeni Roseline the Community Manager gave the vote of thanks after sharing highlights of the value proposition of Wennovation hub, which includes the beautifully designed and decorated co-working space, technical assistance to startups, incubation, acceleration, and investment opportunities for startups in the portfolio of the company.
