In affirmation of its commitment to continuously identify innovative ideas in the local environment and transform them into viable business solutions in Nigeria’s fast paced technology and innovation industry, Wenovation Hub, one of the premier hubs in Nigeria has unveiled plans to host the second edition of its Campus2Market programme.
Tagged Campus2Market 2.0, the programme would avail Young Techpreneurs who are undergraduates in tertiary institutions the opportunity to present, discuss, review and evaluate their business ideas with some of the brightest minds in Nigeria’s tech ecosystem.
Furthermore, the programme would afford participants the opportunity to validate their innovative ideas and identify workable business models and pitch their plan at the final demo day to a network of investors and potential partners.
Commenting on the programme, Osasenaga Enogieru, Senior Project Executive, LoftyInc Allied Partners — Operators of Wennovation Hub, explained that the increasing number of technology-based businesses in Nigeria is not only brewing a source of inspiration for many Nigerian Youths and Undergraduates but also making University Campuses a Hub for thrilling ideas that have socio-economic impact and commercially viable.
Enogieru adds that the need to support and develop these communities of student innovators orchestrated the need to initiate the Project Campus Startup Challenge.
Campus2Market 2.0 will commence with a call for ideas/solutions based on the consensus reached at the end of the data gathering process from Wennovation Hub team. The call for ideas would be launched in a bid to finding the most innovative solutions to the challenges identified.
This call will be highly publicized among the participating institutions to attract the best of the best brains among solution makers such as software & hardware developers and practitioners in the selected area of focus. Gender parity will be encouraged in team formation for entries into the program. The call for ideas will be on for three weeks starting on 22nd April.
The selection of top ideas will be conducted in house after which the top ten participants will proceed to a week bootcamp. At the bootcamp, business ideas will be shaped and tested in the market, while select ideas with implementation potentials will get one on-one support and coaching to successfully scale-up their ventures.
Among the several benefits of the bootcamp is that the startup teams will be supported by a network of mentors, content experts, and thought leaders beyond the conclusion of the bootcamp.
